AMD Athlon II X4 630 August 16, 2010 Hayden Wilhelm (Leander, TX) This processor is amazing. It has outperformed all of my expectations. It scores a 7.2 in the Windows 7 Experience Index.
I must say that this is the fastest $100 processor I have ever owned. This thing is great for gaming, and even better for multi-tasking. Overall, this $100 dollar quad core is an amazing buy. I recommend it to all who are on a budget, but still want fast performance. Go AMD!
Good for the $$ July 24, 2010 911kuo79 AS long as you are not a hardcore gamer, this CPU would do the job for you
Amazing! June 27, 2010 Abe Woosley (EUGENE, OREGON, US) Its not an i7 but boy does this thing go! I can have Fl Studio opened with Virtual DJ, Abletone Live, Call of Duty Modern Warfare and be searching the web all at once and not a single problem! I use Win 7 32bit with 4gb ram and 2 nvidia geforce 250 gt's and this baby tears it up... If you want more than go ahead and buy an i5 or i7 but this thing is more than enough for me...
Budget Builders Dream June 11, 2010 SuperCourier (Miami) While pricing out parts from a suggested build (go to maximumpc daht calm and search $647 pc) for my wife, I was pleasantly surprised to see this quad core selling at the same price as the dual core originally suggested. Yes, the updated article suggests a 620 quad, but it was dual first. This is even faster than the 620 in that list now, and the price is the same.
When you consider the fact that these chips are so crazily upgradeable due to the chipset they work with, it will soon dawn on you that this bargain can become another upgrade wonder with the hexacore Phenom II X6 1090T in the future if you choose. Prices will only drop here, folks. The stock cooler that comes with it is plenty effective for non-overclockers. Installation was simple for even a newb like me with the enclosed instructions.
I can't believe my wife, who only wanted to spend a few hundred bucks on a computer, is driving a quad core for a fraction of what I spent on a vastly inferior build years ago...the hollowed out corpse of that computer enshrining her new baby. GET YOURSELF THIS BARGAIN IF YOU VALUE A PRICE TO FEATURES RATION IN YOUR FAVOR.
Looking forward to the 650 version May 28, 2010 MT (Vegas) Performance, at a price that is affordable. Without AMD in the market place Intel CPUs would sell for 3 times their current prices. But this AMD CPU does everything I could ask for using Gimp, Inkscape, Blender, and Scribus...
I use large graphic files, and this CPU is an affordable CPU with enough power to keep me busy, in the future I will want more power/speed, using less electrical power, that recently has become a concern. I currently have 4 systems running that consume about $250 per year from the US electrical grid, and I am looking to reduce that usage...
