Amazon.com Product Description Amazon.com Product Description The Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 brings two computing cores running at 2.93 GHz onto a single processor, giving mainstream users that extra horsepower to ensure that their computing experience won't slow down even when running multiple applications simultaneously. The processor uses the LGA775 socket for compatibility with many motherboards and features 3 MB of L2 cache and a 1066 MHz front side bus.
With two computing cores, you'll experience great performance. |
Intel's Intelligent Power Capability ensures optimal energy efficiency. | Two Cores on One Chip Deliver Increased Processor Performance By using two processing cores, the E7500 can deliver higher performance with greater energy efficiency than older single-core processors. The E7500 brings robust performance for both home and business software applications, and users will be able to run more applications simultaneously with less stuttering and slowdown. Everything including email, downloading, online shopping, and video editing can be done simultaneously and with greater efficiency. No longer is it necessary to choose between work and play--with the E7500 you have it both ways at the same time. New Technologies Provide Higher Performance and Better Energy Efficiency By using hafnium, a naturally occurring element, Intel engineers were able to shrink the size of new Intel processors and pack more computing technology into less space. The processor also features Intel's Intelligent Power Capability, which allows it to turn off parts of itself when it isn't in use. The result is improved performance with less energy wastage and a reduction of heat and noise, making the processor easier on your wallet and easier on the environment. Intel has packed the Core 2 Duo E7500 with cutting-edge technologies for better performance. Wide Dynamic Execution allows the processor to do more tasks simultaneously by enabling the delivery of more instructions per clock cycle, while Advanced Smart Cache technology improves performance by physically placing data closer to the processing cores. And Smart Memory Access, which increases available data bandwidth, means you'll experience less slowdown while multi-tasking, so you can get more done. Multimedia Acceleration for Faster Content Creation If you are editing HD video, manipulating professional grade photos, or working with music, the E7500 will let your computer keep up with your imagination. The processor features Intel's Advanced Digital Media Boost for accelerating performance of a wide range of applications including video, gaming, speech and image, and photo processing among others. Additionally, Intel's HD Boost technology further improves the performance of SSE4-optimized applications, such as video editing and encoding in high definition. The Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 allows for a quieter, more energy-efficient PC while still maintaining a high level of performance. It it backed by a three-year warranty.

| Customer Reviews: Very Fast!!! March 10, 2010 Harold Corley (SUMMERVILLE, SC, US) Nothing to complain about with this product. For a 2.93 Core 2 Duo, speed kills!
Fast, Cheap, Easy to install January 30, 2010 Michael Palmer (BFE, Kansas) I bought this processor for a home PC I was building my self. If you're looking for a fast processor for a good price, Then this is the way to go. Really easy to install, but i had some problems with installing the heatsink as it just clips into the motherboard. Other than that i had no problems with this CPU.
Booted right out of the box and ran alot faster than my old P4 at 1.6 Ghz. Definitely power ful enough for a basic home computer.
Fast January 18, 2010 Lee Bais 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This CPU runs very fast and yet cool with my XFX 750i MB. I haven't OC'd it yet but it has plenty of power running at stock speed. It's a pretty old CPU but still runs faster than some of the new Core 2 Duo out there. If you are on a limited budget but still wants some power in your CPU, this is the one for you. I highly recommend it to others.
Does not support Intel Virtualization Technology October 25, 2009 Christopher Kostovny (Pittsburgh, PA USA) 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
I checked the Intel ARK site before I ordered this processor, and two of the listed variations said "boxed" on them and both boxed processors supported Intel VT-x. I assumed this was considered a boxed processor, and as such, would support VT-x. To my surprise, the spec code on the box for this processor is SLB9Z-- the only one out of the four spec codes listed on the ARK site that does not support VT-x.
Processor works fine otherwise, but I was disappointed that I'll be unable to use Windows Virtual PC on this machine.
