This gets more than the job done! It gets it done fast! Between this and the 3.2GHz Dual Core I had before, I've definitely seen a performance boost with this, even though it's 200MHz slower than my last CPU.
I feel confident and set for anything now... at least for the next 3 or 5 years or so, then I'll probably feel a bit outdated. But still, don't really see the point of upgrading anytime soon now!

For the price, it was definitely a good purchase. This processor dramatically improved performance in those games which were heavily dependent on CPU. For example, I was able to run flight simulator 2004 in maximum settings at 40fps (+/- 0.7). I have an ATI Radeon HD 4650 graphics card with windows 7 64 bit running on 4GB DDR2 ram.

I was pleased to read about this CPU and that it will happily work in an AM2 motherboard with only a BIOS update. I received and installed this Phenom II X4 940 into my ASUS M232SLI Deluxe mobo today and am just thrilled. This chip replaced my ginormously expensive FX-62 CPU (back when it was new, $900). The move up from 2.8 dual core to (overclocked on water) 3.3 quad core has been nothing short of amazing so far. And Amazon's price is crazy delicious.

Highly recommended for anyone stuck on an AM2 board and looking for somewhere to go before committing to a hefty pricetag on a full i7 955 setup. Heck, highly recommended even if you're not stuck on an AM2 board like I am.

Little did i know that i would be in for a surprise on this processor. I am amazed at the speed and how it works with everything i throw at it when its under pressure.Many of my friends prefer the intel core i5 and i7 processors which is way too expensive. They are very satisfied with the AMD. This phenom II 3.0Ghz Quad Core processor works like a charm. Still have some playing around to do with the AMD Fusion. The best is yet to come.

I looked at all the specs for AMD vs Intel cpu's. Yes Intel wins hands down on all specifications. BUT, I am not launching a rocket,I am a typical high end gamer with simple needs.
I purchased this chip based on my review of current cpu's available. I looked at overall function, speed, and final cost. AMD won this round for me.
Burn in testing as I write this review. No issues and the speed is awesome!
