Excellent price, excellent performance. July 21, 2010 A. Ashour (Saudi Arabia) I ordered this CPU along with an Asus M4A78 Plus motherboard to upgrade my PC, i recieved the parts in October 2009 and to this date i am happy with my purchase.
Installation was about as easy you one could expect, dropped it into the MB socket and strapped on the heat sink. Powered the system on and everything worked flawlessly out of the box. System performance got a great boost and runs anything i throw at it. I even sometimes have two games open at the same time (World of Warcraft & Mass Effect 2) with Firefox and have absolutely no trouble alt-tabbing between them.
The CPU is supported by an ATI Radeon 4870 which makes this system a fast yet affordable solution. If i could find any faults would be the high CPU temperature, but i blame a good deal of this on fairly warm ambient temperature as i live in a hot and humid environment. Still, the CPU refuses to skip a beat and has given me reliable & consistent performance since date of purchase. I highly recommend this item!
Super processor June 20, 2010 Steven M. Love (Charlotte NC) Quad Core is the way to go, with Windows 7 there is no waiting on anything, I burned 3 dvds and played an online game at the same time, the DVDs recorded in 15 mins.......and with the 8 gigs of Ram helped...
Still using it March 31, 2010 N. Aagaard (Eastern NC, USA) I bought this a year ago and still happy. My programs run well and open smoothly. Plays my left4dead 2, i can open lots of different google chrome tabs, itunes, file folders and no troubles.
I'd buy AMD again in the future.
What can be said bad about it? March 4, 2010 Andrew Elliott (Berthoud, CO USA) This gets more than the job done! It gets it done fast! Between this and the 3.2GHz Dual Core I had before, I've definitely seen a performance boost with this, even though it's 200MHz slower than my last CPU.
I feel confident and set for anything now... at least for the next 3 or 5 years or so, then I'll probably feel a bit outdated. But still, don't really see the point of upgrading anytime soon now!
Lived up to expectations February 20, 2010 JBreezy (U.S.) For the price, it was definitely a good purchase. This processor dramatically improved performance in those games which were heavily dependent on CPU. For example, I was able to run flight simulator 2004 in maximum settings at 40fps (+/- 0.7). I have an ATI Radeon HD 4650 graphics card with windows 7 64 bit running on 4GB DDR2 ram.
